Co-Author of ECFR Foreign Policy Scorecard 2011/2012 Hans Kundnani presented the results and discussed the content with experts from German foundations, think tanks and parliament.
ECFR's Berlin office was established to provide ECFR with strong national and regional input into its analysis and research, and to help stimulate pan-European debate on strategic European foreign affairs issues.
Headed by Olaf Boehnke, the office focuses on advocacy and research related to Germany´s changing role in Europe, German-Franco relations, EU-US relations and the broader geo-strategic perspectives of the European Union at large. The office has built a high-level network with policy-makers, government officials, think-tankers and academics.
ECFR Berlin was instrumental in organising a major launch event for ECFR, held in the German Foreign Ministry in October 2007. The conference was attended by over six hundred representatives of the foreign policy community and was addressed by Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The ECFR Council’s first meeting also took place in Berlin in November 2007.
So far, the Berlin office organised a variety of events, including regular high-level gatherings of German & European government officials discussing European affairs. The Berlin office has also held a number of public outreach events and regular media briefings. The office is currently leading ECFR's Germany in Europe programme.
