Adam Baron

Adam Baron was a visiting fellow with the Middle East and North Africa programme at the European Council on Foreign Relations. His topics of focus include Yemen, the Arabian Peninsula, and the War on Terror. 

Baron was based Sanaa, Yemen from 2011-2014, where he worked as a journalist, reporting for the Christian Science Monitor, the Economist and McClatchy. His commentary on Yemen has been featured in outlets such as Foreign Policy, the National (UAE), al Jazeera English, and the Nation (US). He has also provided commentary for radio and television outlets including CNN, NPR, al Jazeera English, the BBC, Monocle Radio, and the CBC. 

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Baron received a BA in Arab Studies and Religion from Williams College, an MA in International Peace and Security from the Department of War Studies at Kings College London, and studied Arabic at the American University in Cairo. He has been with the ECFR since October 2014.
