Ghassan Khatib

Ghassan Khatib (غسان الخطيب), born in 1954, is a member of the Palestinian People’s Party (PPP) and a lecturer at Birzeit University. He was a member of the Palestinian negotiating teams to the Madrid talks (in 1991) and was critical of the Oslo peace process. He also served as the Palestinian Authority’s minister of labour in 2005, and minister of planning between 2005-2006. Khatib is the founder of the Jerusalem Media & Communication Centre (JMCC) which conducts polling of Palestinian public opinion.
