Akram Rajoub

Major General Akram Rajoub (أكرم الرجوب), born in 1963 in Dura (a village near Hebron), is a member of Fatah’Revolutionary Council. He was governor of Nablus from 2014 until April 2016 when president Mahmoud Abbas dismissed him after alleged criticism on Facebook. He then served as governor of Jenin until August 2023.

Rajoub spent 13 years in Israeli prison before being released in 1994 as part of the Oslo Accords. He then worked at Preventive Security as its assistant director general and director in three governorates. He is the cousin of Fatah secretary general Jibril Rajoub.
