Communications Intern

You will support ECFR’s communications activities organisation-wide. We are searching for someone who is passionate about communication, traditional as well as social media, foreign policy, international relations, and interested in gaining experience within a foreign policy think tank in a communications-context.

  • Salary: €450,00 per month


  • Assist ECFR Communications team with a social media strategy
  • Draft press releases
  • Assist in publishing commentaries and publications
  • Conduct research on the European media landscape
  • Assist in recording and editing podcasts, videos, and other multimedia
  • Assist in streamlining the organisational branding
  • Update databases and other contacts to ensure accurate, up to date records
  • Other general responsibilities may be reasonably requested over time 

Person specification

  • Current student preferably with communications experience (We do not offer internships for M.A. graduates.)
  • Excellent written and spoken English (knowledge of German is an advantage).
  • Knowledge of social media platforms 
  • Knowledge of design software is an advantage
  • Some knowledge of European media landscape
  • Knowledge of the EU and governance institutions prefered
  • Understanding of International Relations
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a multinational team
  • Well-organised and able to multi-task, with a keen eye for detail
