HR Manager

ECFR are seeking to recruit an HR Manager for its growing Berlin Office. You will be expected to manage all aspects of the groups day to day and strategic HR needs including recruitment, employee relations and training & development. You will be providing professional guidance and support to managers and staff within the organisations national offices across Europe. Additionally, you will support the transition of the organisation transferring its core business function from London to Berlin. The HR Manager must be able to operate independently, pro-actively and effectively across the full range of HR disciplines and be able to work with managers and colleagues at all levels across the organisation. A strong command of both English and German is essential to be successful. An understanding of German employment law is required, knowledge of other European country labour laws would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert professional advice to meet organisational needs in accordance with organisational policy and relevant local employment legislation and promote the staff agenda is heard and implemented
  • Provide guidance and support on complex HR issues
  • Ensure the HR procedures/policies are universally applied and maintained, identify areas for improvement and communicate effectively throughout the organisation
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation and disseminate across the organisation as appropriate
  • Manage recruitment life cycle
  • Attract, nurture and develop high calibre talent
  • Manage the annual performance appraisal process
  • Analyse and address training needs

Person specification

The successful candidate should demonstrate relevant and proven experience in a busy and multinational office environment. Their skills and experience would include:

  • Relevant HR experience within a similar role at a senior level within a small to medium size organisation
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation; a focus on Germany, France and the UK an advantage
  • Experience supporting organisational change
  • Able to multi-task and work on own initiative and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proficient computer software skills, MS Office especially Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German, knowledge of another European language would be an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage key stakeholders needs effectively
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good organisational skills, highly numerate and accurate with an eye for detail
  • Willingness to travel to our European offices as and when required.
