The Undead Past: How Nations Confront the Evils of History
When: Wednesday, January 31, 2018, 14:00 – 16:00 CET
Where: ECFR Berlin Unter den Linden 17 (Entrance: Rosmarinstrasse 1), 10117 Berlin
At this event, The Undead Past: How Nations Confront the Evils of History, a panel of experts will discuss how countries around the world have come to terms with historical wrongdoing in their pasts, and how such efforts effect politics and culture today. We will reflect on the United States’ troubled racial history, trace Germany’s efforts to atone for the crimes of the Nazi regime, explore how Russia has (and has not) dealt with the legacy of Stalin’s tyranny, and assess Rwanda’s ongoing recovery from genocide.
