Competitive Salary and Benefits

The European Council on Foreign Relations, the only pan-European think tank at the forefront of EU foreign policy, is looking for an exceptional Director of Development to create and deliver its fundraising function.

ECFR has created this new post to focus on growing income so that it can continue to develop leading edge research programmes.  Working closely with the Chief Executive, and the highly influential board of trustees and the council, the post holder will be responsible for raising income from trusts, individuals and corporations.  This is an exceptional opportunity to join this highly innovative organisation at an exciting time in its evolution, and to work closely with some of the most influential leaders and thinkers in the Europe.

The successful candidate will have the sophistication and intellect required to work effectively with senior stakeholders and high net worth donors from different cultural backgrounds.  With an entrepreneurial approach to creating and delivering a fundraising strategy with limited resources, you will have a demonstrable track record of securing funds from a range of European supporters.  Fluency in English plus German and /or French is essential, and knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.
