KIEV -- The collapse of
Ukraine's parliamentary coalition has pushed the country's political
and economic situation further into uncertainty.
Ukraine's government was thrown into more uncertainty
Tuesday when the parliamentary coalition of Prime Minister Yulia
Tymoshenko collapsed.
Until now, Tymoshenko has been able to maintain her majority coalition
in parliament and her post as prime minister despite being narrowly
defeated by Viktor Yanukovych in a February 7 run-off for the
presidency.
But apparent defectors from Tymoshenko's junior
coalition partner, the Our Ukraine-People's Self Defense bloc, have
switched sides by refusing to submit their signatures as proof of a
parliamentary majority. Click here for more.
